ALDS AudioPlayer/AudioOut How to change volume

I've used this to control the master volume back on XP:
ALSystemMixer1->ControlGroups->Faders->Items[0]->Value=somevalue;

On Vista/Win7 it controls the applications volume only, range is 0-65535.
