VLDSVideoLogger error: "Can't start DirectShow graph"

Out of the blue I started getting the subject error from my VLDSVideoLogger tonight. I'm using the Xvid MPEG encoder. It goes away when I use a WMV encoder (which wouldn't be bad if the resulting .wmv files weren't orders of magnitude larger).

Any tips on what could cause this? ted |

btw I don't get this error when I use the MainConcept MPEG-2 Encoder, but I instead end up with an .mpg file that won't play. Very confused wrt what's going on here ...

My guess is as good as yours, reinstall the XVid encoder?

Reinstalling XVid was one of the first things I tried, didn't change anything. But I expect to get a proper .mpg file from the MainConcept encoder, regardless.
