Interlacing / De-interlacing

I'm using TVLDSVideoPlayer to play various DV files, and I've discovered that it combines fields into frames when given an interlaced video. Since the videos I'm using feature lots of high speed motion and contrast, the results are not very pleasing.

When I play the same file using Windows Media Player, there is no evidence of field combining, it looks smooth and natural.

Is there a way to make TVLDSVideoPlayer give me the same results as WMP?
