Problem with installation
Hey all,

I am new to Embarcadero RADS and Open Wire and want to use the open wire editor for the intelligence lab pack in C++ Builder XE2.

I want to use the open wire editor like in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN-LXwrn-...embedded#! My problem is that I can't find this open wire editor button. There is also no open wire tab next to code, design, history. I searched in all menues, I can find, but no one contains something that sounds like open wire editor.

Here is what I have installed:
  1. C++ Builder XE2
  2. Delphi XE2 (first tried it without this, but an error showed up that the file fmx160.bpl is missing. Do I really have to have this installed?)
  3. IntelligenceLab 5.0.1 for Delphi and C++ Builder
  4. OpenWire 5.0.1 for VCL / FireMonkey
  5. OpenWire Editor 5.0.1 for VCL / FireMonkey

Is there something I have missed to install or that I have to configure?

Thanks
benjamin

RE: Problem with installation
Hi!

Had the exact same issue but i never missed the OWE. I hope you have some regedit experience, check this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Embarcadero\BDS\9.0\Disabled Packages

Check if C:\Windows\system32\OpenWireEditorDsnD16.bpl is listed, if so delete that key and restart Builder. Hope that helps.

Regards,
Dave

RE: Problem with installation
Hi.

Thank you for your reply. In my registry existed this key. If I delete it and start C++ Builder it says again, that the file fmx160.bpl is missing. The splash screen of C++ Builder says that it is trying to load the OpenWireEditorDsnD16.bpl package when the error massage occurs.

I already used the repair function of Embarcadero but the error remains.
In the bin folder of RAD Studio exists a fmx162.bpl file but no fmx160.bpl.

Does someone have an idea how to solve this?

Greetings
Benjamin

RE: Problem with installation
Sounds like some version conflict, do you have any XE2 updates installed?

RE: Problem with installation
Thank you. I found the problem.
I downloaded the wrong installer.
The right one is: OpenWire Editor 5.0.1 VCL and FireMonkey (Windows only) 32 and 64 bit support for XE2 Update 4 Only

Thank you for your help.

RE: Problem with installation
I got many errors on Embarcadero startup after installing OpenWire. Reinstalling "IntelligenceLab 5.0.1 for Delphi and C++ Builder" after I installed OpenWire fixed it for me.

RE: Problem with installation
Hi,
I am new with openwire editor
I want to work with Delphi xe2 and I have the same problem of Benjamin.
My version is Rad studio xe2 delphi and C++ builder update 1. So I suppose I have to install:
OpenWire 5.0.1 for VCL / FireMonkey
OpenWire Editor 5.0.1 for VCL / FireMonkey
But I can find the openwide editor label.
Can someone help me?

RE: Problem with installation
After installation I'm also unable to find any trace of it even though XE2 (update 4) showed the OpenWire logo in the start up splash screen and looking at installed packages indicates it is there. There are no links, tabs, components, nothing. I tried uninstalling OpenWire and reinstalling to no avail.
